Tara Sharifan, PsyD
Founder, Psychologist
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Hello, I'm Dr. Tara Sharifan. I became a pediatric psychologist because I deeply value and appreciate children and teenagers for the contributions they make to society through their creativity, intuition, and individuality. Each child has a unique personality, comprising specific strengths that can better the world we live in. I strive to help children harness those strengths and overcome barriers to becoming the best versions of themselves. Parents and families are instrumental in this goal; thus, I often include them in the overall treatment plan.

I have received training and experience working with gender-diverse youth and youth who have various medical conditions. I utilize therapeutic strategies consistent cognitive behavioral therapy. Within that framework, I emphasize a collaborative and scientifically supported approach with the goal of empowering individuals and families.

I received my doctorate from Pacific University and completed training at Primary Children’s Hospital, Oregon Health and Science University, and Randall Children’s Hospital. Outside of my clinical practice, I enjoy spending time with family and traveling.

Psychologist
Pronouns: He/Him/His

I’m Steve Lucero, Ph.D., M.B.A., a clinical psychologist who has worked with children, teenagers, and young adults for more than a decade. I believe that everyone can benefit from counseling at various points in their lives. If this feels like one of those periods when you or a beloved family member might benefit from exploring some new ways to cope with emotional, psychological, or structural barriers that are keeping you from living a value-driven life, I’d love to help along that journey. As we collaboratively define treatment goals together, I can offer my expertise in multiculturally informed evidence based treatment to support you and your family in achieving your wellness goals.

I earned my master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Child and Family Psychology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Therapy externships in Ohio at the Bowling Green Children’s Resource Center, BGSU Psychological Services Center, Sandusky County and Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities rounded out my graduate training. I completed my clinical internship at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, post-doctoral residency at Utah State University, and MBA at the University of Utah.

In my free time, I’ll most likely be found outdoors with my partner and our four daughters at splash-pads, playgrounds, Lagoon, skiing the Beav, and attending university or professional sporting events.
